Shirley Irene Kinneer

On August 8th 2020, Shirley Kinneer, loving wife of 43 years, mother of two, worlds best grandma, and caring sister passed away at the age of 68 after losing her battle with cancer.

Shirley was born in San Francisco on June 7th 1952. As a child she also lived in Nevada and Hawaii. Her love of the ocean always reminded her of the family she made in Hawaii.

In 1972 Shirley moved to the Johnstown area and a few years later married her love James Richard Kinneer. The two moved to Friedens where they raised their two children. She was a teacher’s aide for Friedens Elementary for many years and she was a loving homemaker to her family.

Her daughter-in-law and son-in-law were a welcomed extension of her family. She enjoyed learning and teaching. She especially enjoyed showing her granddaughter Karly a little bit about everything.

Shirley was known for her sweet personality and always had a smile and a hug ready for anyone who would accept it. She had a genuine kindness like no other. Shirley was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Somerset. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she openly practiced loving all people. She had a strong faith in God and His promises and enjoyed telling others about His promises.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lucia Miles and father, James Brown.

Shirley is survived by her husband Rick; daughter, Melissa Brenchak; son, Timothy Kinneer; daughter-in-law, Victoria Kinneer; son-in-law, Spurg Brenchak; granddaughters, Karly and Bethany Brenchack; siblings, Monika Diamond (Bob), Linda Katenhusen (Late Karl), Diane VonMerta, James Willie Brown, Jr. and Michael Brown (Roxanne).

Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.

No visitation will be held and interment will be private.

A Memorial Service will be held via ZOOM on Sunday August 23rd at 3:00pm. For the ZOOM password and ID, please contact Rick directly anytime prior to the service.
