Goldie J. Brown-Mitchell, 83, of Dunbar Twp., passed away on Thursday February 22, 2024 at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.
She was born October 16, 1940 in Scottdale, a daughter of the late William Clarence and Sarah Catherine (Campbell) Rowan.
She attended the New Life Apostolic Tabernacle, Smock.
Goldie loved to sew, having made many of her own clothes throughout the years. She also made many old-fashioned Crinoline, hoop-skirt dresses. She enjoyed singing, especially her favorite song ‘The Lighthouse’.
Goldie is survived by her husband, Howard T. 'Tom' Mitchell;
daughter; Dianna Goodwin and her husband Charles; grandchildren, Alexandra Goodwin (Marcus Rigney), Joshua Goodwin, and Ian Goodwin; great-granddaughter, Joleene Rigney; sisters, Shirley Louise Hironaga and Janet Faye Roseck and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Arnold R. Brown; step-son, Marlin Brown; sisters, Gloria Jean Rowan and Margaret Elizabeth Cunningham and brothers, George ‘Bill’ William Rowan, Frederick Arthur Rowan, Kenneth Robert Rowan and Jaye Ellsworth Rowan.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.
A private Memorial Gathering and Celebration of Goldie’s life was held with family and friends.
Private interment will be held at a later date in the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
