Eugene Robert ("Gene") Johnson

Eugene (Gene) Robert Johnson, 91, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Saturday December 18, 2021 with his daughter by his side.

He was born on June 11, 1930, a son of the late Samuel and Gertrude (Doyle) Johnson in Dunbar.

Eugene graduated from Dunbar Township High School in the Class of 1948.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Connellsville, where he also was part of the Church Choir. Many years ago, he was also a member of St. Rita’s Church Choir.

Eugene retired from Allegheny Power Service Corp. in Greensburg, where he was a Programmer Analyst, after 32 years of service.

He enjoyed going to his sister-in-law, Pat Collier’s home in Knoxville, TN and the Great Smoky Mountains.

He loved playing cards at night with his daughter and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Kathleen M. Albright of Connellsville and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor R. (Pawlikowski) Johnson on April 21, 2017.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Wednesday from 2pm – 8pm and on Thursday from 8:30am until 9:30am when Prayers of Transfer will be held. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10am at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville with Fr. Daniel Carr as Celebrant.

Committal will follow at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville.
Eugene’s family requests that masks are to be worn during visitation and services.

His daughter Kathy would like to thank Excela Health Hospice, especially Dary Ann, Jackie, Stephanie, Janie and Julie for all of the excellent care they provided for Eugene and a special thank you to Laural Brooks for all the help that she gave to both me and my Dad.
