Margaret “LaVerne” (King) Caringola, 92, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Friday November 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at South Connellsville Personal Care Home.
LaVerne was born June 11, 1926 in Connellsville, the daughter of the late Robert A. and Mary Elizabeth (Andursky) King.
She was a graduate from Immaculate Conception High School in the Class of 1944.
In Laverne’s younger years, she worked at McCrory’s and at Troutmans for a short time.
After her employment, she became a loving homemaker to her family who were all her pride and joy.
LaVerne was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville where she was a Christian Mother, helped with the Mercy Meals and served on the choir.
She was also a long time bowler, an avid reader, enjoyed writing and playing bingo.
LaVerne is survived by her loving children, Christine Caringola of Connellsville, Jane Ann Caringola-Geary of Connellsville, John R. Caringola and wife Debbie of Greensburg, Thomas J. Caringola of Oakmont and Mark D. Caringola and wife Chris of Connellsville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet L. King of Cleveland, OH and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Caringola; children, Nancy Caringola (2008) and Danny Caringola (2011); 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Geary, Jr. (1998) and Rebecca Geary-Lessman (2017); sisters, Theresa King, Sr. Mary Robert OSB, Dorothy Kirschner and Ann Hall and a brother, Robert (Bobby) King.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville on Tuesday from 2 to 8pm.
Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:30am until 11:30am when Prayers of Transfer will be held. The Funeral Mass will immediately follow at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville at 12 Noon with Rev. Fr. Robert Lubic as Celebrant.
Committal will follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville.
