Joseph J. Cherichetti, 91, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Friday November 30, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 4, 1927 in Dunbar, the son of the late Pomfillio and Lucia P. (Pomroy) Cherichetti.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Dunbar. He was a graduate of Dunbar Township High School.
Once he graduated, Joseph proudly served his Country in the United States Army for 8 years and then served with the United States Navy for 22 years until his retirement. After his military retirement, he was employed through and retired from Rockwell Manufacturing in Uniontown.
Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph J. Cherichetti, Jr. and fiancée Nancy Moore of Pittsburgh; brother, Sullivan Cherichetti of New Castle and sister, Margaret Panzak of Pittsburgh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose M. Cherichetti; brother, Patsy Cherichetti, and sister, Concetta Cherichetti.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1pm - 8pm and 1pm - 8pm.
Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 8:30am until 9:30am, when Prayers of Transfer will be held.
The funeral Mass will immediately follow at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Dunbar at 10am.
Committal will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown where full military rites will be accorded by the Amvets General George C. Marshall Post #103.
The family would like to thank Dr. Weisel, Dr. Kad and especially all the staff at Amber House for their medical and emotional support. They were the extra family that Joseph needed so much.
