William G. Copeland, Sr., 70, of South Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 17, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 26, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Harold and Anna (Bybel) Copeland.
Bill was employed through the Modulus Corporation for many years until his retirement. He also worked for Highlands Hospital and the Herald Standard.
He was a member of St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, South Connellsville Fireman’s Club, The Polish Club, Moose Lodge, and Scottdale Fireman’s Club.
He enjoyed hunting, playing Bingo, and he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos.
He also coached the South Connellsville Little League for many years.
William is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gloria (Bartholomai) Copeland; son, William Copeland Jr. and wife Kristy of Connellsville; daughter-in-law, Nadene Copeland; grandchildren, Taylor Copeland, Rilynn Copeland, Alexis Copeland, Bobby Myers and fiancé Ashley, and Devin McKee and wife Erica; great-grandchildren, Zayden, Cruz, and Amara; sisters, Mary Ann Schneider of Everson and Marsha and husband Mark of Greensburg as well as numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Copeland in 2014; infant brother, Richard Copeland and his mother and father-in-law, John and Ewaldina Bartholomai.

Private visitation will be held with the immediate family only. The Divine Liturgy will be held at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale at 2pm on Monday December 21, 2020 with Rev. Oleh Seremchuk as Celebrant.
Private interment with the family will immediately follow at St. John’s Byzantine Cemetery, Scottdale.
In following with Covid-19 mandates, masks are to be worn in the funeral home, at the church and at the cemetery and social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times.
