Tuna “Tun-Tun” “Tunie,” beloved tabby cat of Marcia and John Collins of Lemont Furnace, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Cheat Lake Animal Hospital, Morgantown.
Born in 2015, Tuna was adopted by Marcia and John after they met him and instantly fell in love with the runt of a litter of six kittens.
Tuna grew into a big-eared, stubby-legged kitty who fiercely protected his home from intruders. When he wasn't patrolling the household, he could often be found sunbathing on the porch or spending time with the herd of deer that visited each day.
Tuna was a lap-kitty – which was on his terms only - and he loved spending time with John, enjoying his daily cuddles and pets.
Marcia made sure he was well-fed with his favorite canned cat food and would have his personal water fountain (aka the bathroom vanity sink) running for him. Tuna was camera-shy and would try to avoid having his photo taken by anyone.
He brought immense happiness, love, and light into their home and their home will not be the same without hearing his little toenails clicking on the hardwood floors down the hallway.
Tuna is survived by his mom and dad, Marcia and John Collins; his human brothers, Zach and Tanner; and his little fur-brother, Todd, who now has the torch passed to him to watch over the house.
He was preceded in death by his big fur-brother, Tigger “Tig-Tig” “Tiggy,” along with many beloved fur babies and human family members who greeted him at the Rainbow Bridge.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and supervision of PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425.
