Shirley Collins Obituary

Shirley Ann Collins, 81, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday July 10, 2025, at Fairfield’s Personal Care Home, Fairchance.

She was born March 30, 1944, in Mt. Braddock, a daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret (Lowrey) Jobes.

She graduated from North Union Township High School in the Class of 1962, and she was a member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church, Lemont Furnace. For several years, Shirley was employed at Pechin’s in the produce department. In 1984, she became employed through Giant Eagle, and she worked there until her retirement in 2004.

She enjoyed playing Bingo and Rummykub. She also religiously made sure to have her hair done every Saturday with her sister, Jean. If you knew Shirley, you knew her wonderful and funny sense of humor and her laugh.

Shirley will be lovingly missed and remember by her family and friends, who she adored.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Harrison and her husband Kevin whom she considered a son and Pamela Kosinski and her husband Joseph, both of Connellsville; grandchildren, Denny, Lorriann and Erika; great-grandson, Ryan and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Collins (2010); 4 brothers, Bob, Donnie, Ed, and Bill and her sister, Jean, whom was like a 2nd mother to her.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Tuesday from 4pm until the hour of the funeral service at 6pm with Pastor James B. Jobes officiating. Interment will be private.

Shirley’s family would like to thank Terri Rahm and the Staff of Fairfield’s PCH for the wonderful, loving care they provided for Mom. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you to OSPTA Hospice and especially the nurses, Darla Dowling and Brittney Fischer for their loving care of Mom. “Not every nurse saves lives. God made some to give out Angel wings and He called them Hospice Nurses.” And a thank you to Shirley’s special nephew, James Jobes, who visited often, prayed with her and was always only a phone call away.
