Ronald William “Ron” Burnsworth, 76, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Monday November 15, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 19, 1945 in Connellsville.
For many years until his retirement, Ron was employed on the railroad as a conductor. When he wasn’t working on the railroad, he served for over 25 years as a constable for the county and served legal paperwork when he was called upon to do so.
He enjoyed fishing, especially at the ocean and he loved going shooting. He also enjoyed hunting until he was not able to go safely anymore due to his health.
Ron was known as a hard worker and didn’t know how to stay still.
He always had to be working on projects around the house and in the yard.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Julia (Sherwood) Burnsworth; daughters, Lisa Marlor and husband Eddie Boswell and Rhonda Wingrove and her spouse; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Burnsworth Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, siblings, Betty Miller, Sand Hutchins and husband Scott, and Nell Richter; his special friend, Bob Ritenour; and his best friend and companion, King; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents William and Bessie Burnsworth, Ron was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Sloan and brother, Rick Burnsworth.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.
In following with Ron’s wishes, no visitation or services will be held and interment will be private.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at a later date.
