Richard Vincent "Dick" Mongell

Richard “Dick” Vincent Mongell, 71, of Connellsville, died Monday, July 26, 2021 at his residence. 

He was born October 4, 1949 in Connellsville, PA, a son of the late Frank & Teresa Haggerty Mongell. 

He was a graduate of Connellsville High School class of 1967.  Prior to his retirement, Dick worked for many years as a Shift Supervisor with Crown, Cork and Seal. 

He was a member of St. Rita’s R.C. Church, Connellsville and the VFW Post 21. 

He is survived by his sisters, Michalene Harvey and Karen (Chuck) Riser; a brother, Francis (Barbara) Mongell; all of Connellsville; nieces, Jamie Baer and Wendy (Rick) Kanuch; nephews, Brian Harvey, Jeffrey Harvey & fiancée Jenni, Chad (Lisa) Harvey, Timothy (Jennifer) Harvey; and also numerous great nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Harvey and a great nephew, Noah Harvey. 

Dick’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to his caregivers & friends, Monnie Keilbach and Kathy Ribinsky. 

Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. , Friday, July 30, 2021, in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home, Inc., 418 North Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where Prayers of Transfer will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Rita’s R.C. Church, Connellsville, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Carr as celebrant. 

Interment will follow in St. Rita’s R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville.
