Patricia Vargo Obituary

Patricia Ann Vargo, 80, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 2, 2025 surrounded by her loving nieces and nephews at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.

She was born January 8, 1945 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Paul George and Veronica (Petko) Vargo.

She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville.

Patty was known as a giver of love and sprinkler of happiness in her family. She would blow kisses to her family and to anyone she saw while she was out shopping or going to appointments, just so spread a little bit of that love and happiness she was so well known for.

She loved bingo, her cards and games, coloring and watching her shows and game shows.

She enjoyed listening to the oldies, like Frank Sinatra and Elvis, and she sang along to any song that came on the radio. Her favorite movie was the Wizard of Oz, or as she would say, “Wizard Oz.” She loved wearing her 'jamas' and if she had the chance, she would always change back into them, even if she was already dressed for the day.

Despite not having children of her own, all her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews were her kids. They lovingly referred to her as their Aunt Patty and she gained the nicknames “Tink”, “Tinkerbell”, and “Tinker” from her niece, Rebecca. Rebecca and her husband Marty moved Tink into their home and were her around-the-clock caregivers, making sure she was well cared for and loved unconditionally.

Patty is survived by her “kids”, Rebecca M. Adobato and husband Marty of Scottdale, Jamie L Nangle and husband Richard of Leisenring, Benjamin F. Breakiron Jr. and wife Amber of Connellsville, and Matthew Breakiron and wife Courtney of Connellsville; “grandbabies”, Emily, Conner, Nathan, Heaven, Nichole, Joshua, Shyann, Alexia, Ryder, Noah, and Isabella and brother-in-law, Benjamin Breakiron.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Mary Vargo and Andrew and Anna Petko; her sister, Debra “Debbie” (Vargo) Breakiron; nephew, Benjamin Paul Breakiron and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
