Mary Lee (Shedlock) Younkin

Mary Lee (Shedlock) Younkin, 79, of Connellsville, passed away on Wednesday October 5, 2022 at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.

She was born on May 11, 1943 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Ernest A. and Margaret (Stains) Shedlock.

She attended and graduated from Conn Area Catholic School and she was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville.

Mary Lee was a loving homemaker to her family for many years and was always looking out for her children and grandchildren. She was a caretaker of her family whenever someone was in need.

She is remembered by many for always wearing black.

She loved family history and reminiscing through old family photos. She enjoyed spending time with her family during holidays, especially Christmas, as she would always host the family gatherings.

Mary Lee is survived by her children, Joseph Acey and wife Bess of Connellsville, Gerald F. Younkin II of Youngwood, and Christie Lee Younkin-Dewitt and husband Roger of Connellsville; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Kenny , Autumn, Jeremy, Robert, and Stephen; six great-grandchildren, Jade, Jaxson, Lincoln, Jackson, Raelynn and Holly Reign; her brother, Mark Shedlock and wife Janey of Everson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gerald F. “Jerry” Younkin in 2017; her grandson, Gerald F. "Baby Jerry" Younkin III; brothers, Ernest (Butch), Christopher (Chris), and Shawn Shedlock.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville on Monday from 2 to 8pm and on on Tuesday from 10am until the hour of the Blessing Service at 1pm Rev. Fr. Paul Lisik as Celebrant.

Committal will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
