Mary Ann Zozula, 86, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully into Heaven on a beautiful sunny Monday morning, April 6, 2026, at Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown.
She was born November 4, 1939, at her home in Scottdale, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Yelenosky) Zozula.
She graduated from Scottdale High School in the Class of 1957 and for many years until her retirement she was employed as a bank teller, having worked at the original First National Bank, Scottdale that changed names throughout the years from Gallatin Bank, National City and then finally PNC.
Mary Ann was a dedicated lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale, where she was devoted to helping at the Church whether it was tidying up and cleaning or for their festivals, community events, fundraisers. She religiously attended Mass every week, alongside her brother, Joe, before his passing and she was a member of the Altar Society.
If you personally knew Mary Ann, you knew she was independent and thrived doing anything for herself.
She always made sure she would keep busy – whether she was at the YMCA of Mt. Pleasant where she was a” Silver Sneaker” and would exercise and walk. She attended bingo regularly at various locations, and participated for many years in bowling leagues. She was known for her ceramics that she paonted and would gift to her family. She also enjoyed going on numerous bus trips with family and friends whether it was going to the casinos or to the Pirates games. She would get together and spend time with her friends and would attend monthly luncheons with classmates. She loved watching her Pittsburgh sports teams, Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, even if their seasons weren’t going so well. She loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, doing word searches and playing her hand-held Yahtzee game.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on holidays where everyone would gather and she would say the blessing before the food was served – always remembering to mention all those family members who have passed on before us.
She was so proud of family – especially with her nieces and great-niece and great-nephews.
Mary Ann lived her life full of Faith, love, and care for her family, her Church, and her friends and she will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Magdaline “Maggie” Tomasko (Michael); brothers, Joseph Peter “Joe” Zozula, Paul Zozula (Theresa) and Edward Zozula (Janet); great-nephew, Kevin McGuire; twin great-nieces, Allison Faith Collins and Becca Hope Collins and great-niece, Sara Zozula.
Mary Ann is survived by her devoted nieces and caregivers, Michelle Moscalink and husband Charles of Uniontown and Marcia Collins and husband John of Lemont Furnace; her special niece and nephews, Bethany Moscalink of Uniontown, Zachary Collins and wife Elizabeth of Pittsburgh and Tanner Collins of Lemont Furnace; nieces and nephews, Gregory Zozula (Rhonda), Patti McGuire (Jim), Paul Michael Zozula (Lynn), Kerby Zozula, and Kevin Zozula (Kathy); numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, cousins and extended family and friends whom she loved and prayed for always.
