Martha L. (Jennings) Porterfield

Martha L. Porterfield, 84, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday April 29, 2025 at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.

She was born September 22, 1940 in Ohiopyle, a daughter of the late Edgar and Thelma (Johnson) Jennings.

Martha attended nursing school, where she became a CNA, working for many years caring for many patients.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, playing Bingo, traveling, going to the casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, taking long rides through the mountains and especially spending time at the cabin hearing the elk bugle on her birthday every year.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Nicklow Wolfe, Michael (Pauline) Nicklow, and Matthew (Shelly) Porterfield, all of Connellsville; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother, Phillip (Vella) Jennings and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert W. (Porky) Porterfield; son, Mark A. Nicklow; siblings, Delores, Margaret, Shirley, Caroline, and Jerry.

Martha’s funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public viewing, and private interment will be held in Normalville Cemetery.
