Marjorie Lee (Russman) Leighty

Marjorie Lee Leighty, 86, of Leisenring, passed away peacefully on Monday March 3, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born September 1, 1938 in Dunbar Twp., a daughter of the late William and Mable (Riggar) Russman.

Marjorie was a graduate of Dunbar Township High School and was a member of Leisenring Presbyterian Church.

For many years, she worked in the food and nutrition department at LaFayette Manor.

She was a member of T.O.P.S and she was a First Chair County and State clarinet player.

To know Marjorie was to know love. She loved being with her family and attending church. She also enjoyed baking, which she was wonderful at it.

She loved doing crafting projects with her husband. 

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Susan Leighty Klink and husband Jeff; daughter-in-law, Robin Leighty; grandchildren, Samantha Leighty (Brad), Seanna Kessler (Colin), Garrett Leighty, Alexandra Leighty, and Amy Leighty; great-granddaughters, Cassidy Hodge (Dalton) and Jadyn Detwiler; sister, Barbara Gettemy; special nephew, Kevin Hann and many other beloved family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Elwood ‘Woody’ Leighty; 2 sons, Daniel “Pete” Leighty and Brian “Pickles” Leighty; nephew, Barry Hann, and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Leighty.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Sunday from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm and on Monday from 9am until the hour of the funeral service at 11am with Pastor Brian Swan officiating. Interment and committal services will follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
