Leonard Eugene Tomechko, 83, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 12, 2023 at Highlands Hospital.
He was born February 27, 1940 in Monarch, a son of the late Stephen and Anna (Langor) Tomechko.
Leonard was a veteran of the United States Army.
For 23 years until his retirement, he was employed through Anchor Hocking Glass Cap as a machine operator.
Leonard was a member of the Independent Slovak Citizens Club, Connellsville and he was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, listening to the oldies and most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Shirley (Miller) Tomechko; his son, Timothy Lee Tomechko and wife Sheri of Connellsville; his daughter, Cynthia Lynn Cassel and husband Robert of Connellsville; grandchildren, Kristina Dull and husband Jeremy, Bobby Cassel and fiancé Rachel Hall, and Julia Cassel and fiancé Austin Morris, whom are all of Connellsville; great-granddaughters, Abigail Cassel and Lillian Cassel; sisters, Patricia Bentley and Rose Cebulak and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Fetsco and Theresa O’Shea and his brothers, Stephen, Paul, and Edward Tomechko.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Wednesday from 2pm – 8pm and on Thursday from 9am until the hour of the Blessing Service at 10am with Rev. Fr. Paul Lisik as Celebrant.
Committal will follow in the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville.
