Kenneth E. Monahan, 83, of Connellsville, passed away, Thursday, April 16, 2026, at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.
He was born, May 9, 1942, in Connellsville, a son of the late Gerald and Sarah J. (Richey) Monahan.
Ken is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine (Check) Monahan; siblings, Patrick M. Monahan of Connellsville and Sarah M. (Monahan) D’Amato and husband Robert of Highland Falls, N.Y. ; numerous nieces & nephews; and a Godson, Adam Mittner of Raleigh, N.C.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by twin daughters; and a brother, Arthur G. Monahan.
Ken was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School Class of 1960. After, he served as a military police officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he worked over 46 years with Anchor Hocking Glass, Connellsville, as a mechanic/machinist. Later, he drove a school van for 13 years with Joseph Konetsco, Inc.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church where he served as an usher and was active for years cooking tirelessly behind the grill for church festivals and he would volunteer for the chicken dinners.
He was also a longtime member of the Slovak and Polish Clubs, Connellsville.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, PA 15425 on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. Prayers of Transfer will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville. Committal services and interment will follow at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville. Full military honors will be accorded by the Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made in Ken’s memory to any animal shelters of your choosing.
