John Mulnix, Jr. Obituary

John (Jay) French Mulnix, Jr., 64, of Connellsville, PA, passed away on June 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born April 10, 1961, in Connellsville, he was the son of Patricia Ann (Burnsworth) Mulnix and the late John French Mulnix, Sr.

Jay was a proud graduate of Connellsville Area Senior High School in the Class of 1980. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent much of his career with LE Newcomer Construction. He also worked at Wiltrout’s Tree Service. He was known for his strong work ethic, his big heart, and his easy smile.

A true enthusiast of classic cars and music, Jay found joy both under the hood and on the stage. As a talented guitarist, he played acoustic and electric guitar with the Ridge Runner Band and Sundown, spreading happiness through every note. He was also a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Connellsville Eagles, and the VFW Post 21.

Above all, Jay cherished his family. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diana L. (Hart) Mulnix of Connellsville; his children whom he took great pride in, Gina Salatino of Connellsville, John French Mulnix III and his wife Krystle of Connellsville, Jaylynn Mulnix and fiancé Johnathan of Connellsville, Jayson Mulnix and his wife Erin of Connellsville, Jaycob Mulnix and his wife Chloe of Dickerson Run, Mandy Fordyce of Connellsville, and Jeff Fordyce of Connellsville; his grandchildren who were his heart’s delight, Levi, Lorelai, Twyla, Henry, Brantley, Adelaide, Colton, and Dallas. He was especially looking forward to welcoming his two new grandsons who are on the way this year. Jay is also survived by his mother, Patricia Ann Mulnix; his brother, Bob Mulnix and wife BettyJo, along with countless friends and extended family who will miss him deeply.

In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his grandson, Oliver Henry Mulnix.

Jay’s legacy is one of music, devotion, and deep-rooted love—his memory will live on in every story told and song played in his name.
