John Monaco, Jr., 69, of Rockwood, PA, passed away, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown.
He was born April 29,1953 in Uniontown, a son of the late, John Monaco Sr. & Mary (Soltis) Monaco.
John was a graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and Penn State Main Campus where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering. He worked as an electrician for over 30 years with Anchor Hocking Glass, Connellsville, until its’ closure. After, he worked at U.S. Steel, Irwin Plant until his retirement. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville and the Laurel Highlands Snowmobile Club. John loved his beautiful home in the mountains and devoted much time caring for his yard and trees.
John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diane (Bartholomai) Monaco of Rockwood; brothers, Tony Monaco & wife Shirley of GA and Mark A. Monaco & wife Joni of OH; stepsister, Dolores Taylor & her husband Lou of South Connellsville; brother and sisters-in-laws, Judy Zitney, Robert (Rock) Bartholomai and Pamela, Jacqulyn Bartholomai, whom are all of South Connellsvlle; special nieces, Tina Bartholomai, Beth Geary and Angie Monaco and also many other beloved nieces and nephews whom he adored.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Monaco; father & mother in law, Anthony J. “Pork” & Elizabeth Bartholomai; brothers-in-law, George W. “Bill” Bartholomai and Anthony J. “Dutch” Bartholomai, Jr., and Tom Zitney.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville on Wednesday from 2pm to 8pm. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 10am until 12:30pm, when Prayers of Transfer will be held. A Funeral Mass will follow in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville at 1pm with Rev. Fr. Paul Lisik as Celebrant.
A Committal Service and interment will follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville.
The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice and the staff at the Laurel Ridge Center for their excellent care and consideration of John and Diane during this very sad time.
