John "Tup" Masterbray. Sr.

John “Tup” Masterbray, Sr., 67, of Dunbar Twp., died Saturday, March 1, 2025 at his residence comforted by his family.  

He was born, July 9,1957 in Connellsville, a son of the late Frank & Sophie (Baran) Masterbray. 

He was a member of St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Dunbar. 

He graduated from Connellsville High School in the Class of 1975.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years as a backhoe operator for the North Fayette Water Authority. Tup was also an avid chicken farmer and a handyman who could fix just about anything. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing at the Summit and riding his Harley with Sally. He also enjoyed listening to rock and country music. He was a long-time member of the Latrobe HOG Club.    

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Paul & Marge (Geekie) Garred.

He is survived by his wife, Sally (Garred) Masterbray; children, Amanda Rebar & husband Dave of Uniontown, Jessica Roberts & husband Brian of Vanderbilt, Becca Lilley & husband Tyler of Connellsville, and John Masterbray, Jr of Dunbar Twp.; grandchildren, Riley & Avery Rebar, Nora, Flora, and Aurora Roberts, and Reagan & Dexter Lilley; brothers, Anthony Masterbray & Curly & wife Kelly; sister, Fran Farris & fiance’ Roger Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Wednesday from 2pm – 8pm and on Thursday from 8am until 9:15am when Prayers of Transfer will be held. The Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10am in St. Aloysius R.C. Church with Fr. Peter Guardiano as Celebrant.
