John A. Fiesta

John A. Fiesta, 94, of Hidden Valley, originally of Connellsville, passed away on Wednesday June 21, 2023 at his home.

He was born June 29, 1928 in Leisenring, a son of the late Anthony and Cecelia (Cook) Fiesta Talone and later stepfather, Joseph Talone.

He graduated from Connellsville High School in the Class of 1946 and was a member of the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville.

Shortly after John graduated from high school, he joined the US Marine Corps and then he served in the US Army from 1950 to 1952, where he served as a combat veteran of Korea in the 40^th Division, 223^rd Regiment, and he was a platoon leader with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his service, John received the Bronze Star.

John owned and operated the John A. Fiesta Insurance Agency, Connellsville, where he sold insurance and investment products.

Rotary International was a large part of John’s life, having been a longtime, active member of the Connellsville Rotary, where he also served as a past President and past District Governor of District 733. He was also an active member of the Somerset Rotary club after his move to Hidden Valley. Within Rotary, he was also a Paul Harris Fellow.

In addition to Rotary, John was also involved with the Highlands Hospital Board where he served as a member and a past Chairman. He also was a member of the Fay-Penn Economic Development Council Board, the Connellsville Industrial Enterprise Board, the Knights of Columbus Connellsville Council 948 and the Bishop O'Connell Council 921 4^th Degree, the Connellsville Elks Lodge 503, the Sons of Italy and the VFW Post 21.

John was an avid traveler, having traveled and visited 6 out of the 7 continents. When he wasn’t traveling, John enjoyed spending time with his family who was his world.

John is survived by his children, Richard Fiesta of Washington, DC, John Fiesta of Hidden Valley, PA, and William Fiesta and his wife Joyce of Connellsville; his step-children, Mary Clemmer Brady of Pittsburgh, PA and Virginia Clemmer of Clermont, FL and his grandsons, William ‘J.J’ Fiesta, Jr. and his wife Caity and Colby Fiesta and his wife Katelyn.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Carole Davis Fiesta (1997); his second wife, Mary Louise Hickey Clemmer Fiesta (2022); his stepfather, Joseph Talone and his stepdaughter, Anne Clemmer.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Tuesday from 2pm – 8pm with the Connellsville Rotary holding a memorial ritual at 7pm. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8:30am until 9:30am when Prayers of Transfer will be held. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10am in the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville.

Committal will follow in the St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville and full Military Honors will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 21 and American Legion Posts 301 and 762.
