John R. Bartholomai, 62, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Uniontown Hospital after battling complications from COVID.
He was born January 9, 1959 in Connellsville, a son of the late John and Ewaldina (Kosisko) Bartholomai
John recently retired from Greenridge Reclamation where he worked as a mechanic and operator for 32 years. He recently also retired from coaching booster football for Dunbar Mules for the last 30 years, where he loved to help teach and build character through his coaching.
He treasured the time he spent with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle, hunting, helping others, and spending time with his side kick “Buddy”.
John is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Jeanne Bartholomai; his loving son Jason Bartholomai (Mickey); stepchildren, Carolyn Grimm (Jim), Daniel Clay (Samantha), and Adam Clay; grandchildren, Caiten Clay, Alyssa Rancosky, and Gaige Clay; twin brother, Ronald Bartholomai, Keith Bartholomai (Shannon); sisters, Gloria Copeland, Karen Brown, Donna Benzio (Ben), and Cheryl Chicotella (Dennis); his father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Marge Dunaway; brothers-in-law, Michael Dunaway (Tess) and Greg Dunaway (Tiza) and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. In addition to his parents, John and Ewaldina Bartholomai, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Bryan Clay; brothers-in-law, Keith Brown, Bill Copeland, and Jeffrey Dunaway and his nephew, Jeremy Copeland.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Thursday from 2pm – 9pm and on Friday from 9am until the hour of the funeral service at 11am with Pastor Gary Workman officiating.
Interment will follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
