Jennifer Burkett Obituary

Jennifer Lynn (MacDonald) Burkett, 53, of Connellsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Penn Highlands Hospital in Connellsville, with her family by her side.

She was born on November 22, 1972, in Glassport, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Gerard “Jerry” MacDonald and Mary Jane Elizabeth “MJ” (Myers) MacDonald.

Jennifer was a 1990 graduate of Serra Catholic High School and continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned an associate degree. She was employed at Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital, where she served for several years as a Data Coordinator in the Behavioral Health Unit.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. Jennifer also served as secretary for the JROTC Boosters at Connellsville Senior High School and was an active member of the CAHS Patriots alongside Linda Shearer. Through her involvement, she supported and attended many Wreaths Across America events at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, as well as Warriors of Rock concerts. Jennifer always placed others before herself, a selflessness she instilled in her children.

To know Jennifer was to know that her children were her entire world. She was immensely proud of them and supported them in all they did. When her daughter, Jessica, participated in Kids & Company of Connellsville, Jennifer was a well-known “dance mom,” always lending a helping hand during recitals. She also faithfully attended her son Joshua’s many sporting events and JROTC activities.

Jennifer cherished time spent with her husband, Rob, especially sharing meals and moments together with their family.

She will be forever loved, cherished, and deeply missed.

Jennifer is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years, Robert E. “Rob” Burkett of Connellsville; her daughter, Jessica Burkett of Tennessee; her son, Joshua Burkett of Connellsville; her sister-in-law, Cindy Miller and her husband, Jay, of South Connellsville; and her nieces, Lauren Miller and Jourdan Miller, also of South Connellsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Daniel MacDonald, and her mother- and father-in-law, Gloria Jean and Jesse Robert “Bob” Burkett.

Family and friends will be received at the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home, Inc., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA, on Monday, April 6, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, April 7, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the Blessing Service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev.
