Jay Shawn ("Ship") Shipley

Jay Shawn “Ship” Shipley, 41, of Scottdale, passed away on Sunday May 23, 2021 at Excela Frick Hospital and is finally reunited with his beloved daughter, Megan Renee Shipley, who gained her beautiful angel wings on August 2, 2006.

He was born October 4, 1979 in Connellsville, a son of Donna (Johnson) Schrock and the late William Shipley.

Ship loved to make people laugh and was known as a jokester and prankster.

For many years, Ship worked in construction.

Ship will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Ship is survived by his son, Caleb Shipley and fiancée Emily Voyten; mother, Donna Schrock; step-mom, Theresa Shipley; siblings, Joyce Shipley, Angela Swan, Billie Pokopec, Johnathan Ohler, Donnie Ohler, Shane Shipley, and Sarah Shipley; many aunts and uncles as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Ship was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Megan Renee Shipley and his brother, William “Billy” Shipley.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Tuesday from 5pm until the hour of the funeral service at 6pm with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.

Private interment with the family will be held at Dickerson Run-Union Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Jay’s family has asked that monetary donations be made to the family to help offset costs for the funeral expenses.
