J. Ronald "Herbie" Herbert

J. Ronald “Herbie” Herbert, 67, of Dunbar Twp., passed away on Friday January 17, 2025 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital after a lengthy illness with his family by his side.
He was born December 3, 1957 in Connellsville, a son of James Jr. and Ida Pearl (Keffer) Junk.

Herbie was a graduate of Uniontown High School and had been employed through the Connellsville school district as a custodian and groundskeeper at Falcons Stadium for over 20 years until his retirement. He was also employed at Lenox Glass Plant, Mt. Pleasant, for over 20 years.

In his younger years, Herbie enjoyed helping his Dad at their family farm. When his sons were growing up and joined the Dunbar Mules, he assisted and coached the team.

He was a member of the 454 Sons and Daughters of Italy and was a member of the Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church, Dunbar.

Herbie was a well-known and well-loved man, who loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

Herbie is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Alverta (Chaney) Herbert; his son, Emmert “Doodles” Herbert; grandchildren, Alanna, Wesson, Arliss, Holden, and Cohen Herbert; parents, James and Ida Junk; aunts and uncles, Phyllis Lowther, Jean Dye, Lois Wahler and husband Jerry, and Robert Junk and wife Maryann; loving cousins, Delores and Donna Eyring; good friends, Bea and Ken Washington and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, James W. “L.B.” Junk Herbert and brothers, Jeffrey Junk and Donald Herbert.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday January 31, 2025 from 3:30pm until the hour of the memorial service at 7pm with J.P. Przybylinski officiating.
