Gloria Jean Copeland, 75, of South Connellsville, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her son and husband on Wednesday December 27, 2023 at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born December 11, 1948 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late John and Ewaldina (Kosisko) Bartholomai.
Gloria was devout in her faith, having been a longtime member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale, where she attended many masses, assisted with church functions and attended every Rosary service for funerals as she was a member of the Altar Society. She even won the award in May of 2022 of Mother of the Year at the church.
She was also a member of the South Connellsville Firemen’s Social Club.
Gloria was lovingly known as an avid bingo player, having always made sure to attend New Haven’s bingo every Thursday and she also attended bingo at Connellsville Twp. And South Connellsville.
She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she loved her family dearly.
Gloria is survived by her loving son, William Copeland, Jr. and his wife Kristy; her grandchildren, Taylor Copeland, Bobby Myers and wife Ashley, Devin McKee-Johnston and wife Erica, Rilynn Copeland and Alexis Copeland; great-grandchildren, Amara Myers, Aurelia Myers, Zayden Cruz and Bexleigh McKee; siblings, Karen Brown, Keith Bartholomai and wife Shannon, Ron Bartholomai, Cheryl Chicotella and husband Dennis and Donna Benzio and husband Ben and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, William Copeland Sr.; her son, Jeremy Copeland; brother, John Bartholomai, and brother-in-law, Keith Brown.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Tuesday January 2nd from 2pm – 8pm with the St. John Byzantine Altar Society saying the Rosary at 5pm and the Parastas will be held at 6pm.
Additional visitation will be on Wednesday from 8am until 9:15am, when the Panachida will be held. The Divine Liturgy will immediately follow at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale at 10am with Rev. Oleh Seremchuk as Celebrant.
Committal will follow at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Scottdale.
