Gloria Jean (Wisilosky) Burkett

Gloria Jean Burkett, 81, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday December 26, 2025, at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.

She was born September 28, 1944, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Martin and Ida (Helms) Wisilosky.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville.

Gloria adored cardinals, collecting any trinkets with a cardinal on them whenever she could. She also loved yellow roses.

She enjoyed sitting on her front porch swing and talking to her many neighbors.

Gloria and her daughter Cindy were lovingly known as best friends, always going shopping or eating lunch together.

Gloria was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be forever loved and deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Cindy Miller and husband Jay of South Connellsville; son, Robert ‘Rob’ Burkett and wife Jennifer of Connellsville; grandchildren, Lauren Miller and Jourdan Miller of South Connellsville and Jessica Burkett and Joshua Burkett of Connellsville; grand puppy Toby; brother, Bill Wisilosky of FL; sister-in-law, Dolores Wisilosky of NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Robert ‘Bob’ Burkett; mother and father-in-law, Pearl and Jesse Burkett; sisters, Bernadine (Gordon) McCloy, Genevieve (Sam) Klippi and Victoria (Robert) Renner and her brother, Martin Wisilosky.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Friday January 2nd from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm and on Saturday from 9am until the hour of the Blessing Service at 11am with Rev. Fr. Paul Lisik as Celebrant.

Committal services and interment will follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.

The family of Gloria would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mt. Macrina for their kindness and care they had shown to Gloria over the past year; to the ICU nurses, Marilyn and Melinda, at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital for all their kindness and care while Gloria was admitted and also to Hayley on 2E for all her support and comfort she provided to both to Gloria and to us.
