George J. ("Mike") Koury

George J. “Mike” Koury, Jr., 74, of Connellsville, passed away on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at UPMC Shadyside.

He was born December 6, 1946 in Connellsville, a son of the late George J. Sr. and Anna Mae (Basinger) Koury.

He was Catholic by Faith.

For many years until his retirement, George was employed as a substitute teacher for the Connellsville Area School District.

George enjoyed riding his bike on the bike trail and watching the trains pass through Connellsville.

George is survived by his aunt, Patricia J. Basinger of Connellsville and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his dad, George J. Koury, Sr. and his mother, Anna Mae (Basinger) Koury.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.

In following with George’s wishes, there will be no visitation held and interment will be private at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
