G. Darleen "Dee" (Kessler) Colatch-McDonald

G. Darleen (Dee) Colatch McDonald, 92, of Connellsville, died on Sunday December 8, 2024 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.

She was born on February 11, 1932 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Floyd and Hattie Rhae (Helms) Kessler, and spent the greater part of her life in Connellsville, the hometown she loved.

For a time, she operated an antique shop out of her home, and loved flower gardening, roller skating, collecting Americana and American Brilliant cut glass.

When her children were growing up, she was known for her wonderful Sunday dinners and holiday meals. She was a member of Central Fellowship Church and the former Central Methodist Church.

Dee is survived by two daughters, Michaelene (Robert) Shreck of White and Robin (Eric) Niderstros of Donegal Township; a son, Rev. Dr. John Patrick (Connie) Colatch of Milton, PA; four grandchildren, Deanne Jubec (Dave) of Mt. Pleasant, Ben Shreck of Masontown, Carly Hill (Jordan) of Leeds, England and Zach Colatch (Katie) of Northfield, Vermont, and  six great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Crawford; brother, James E (Pete) Kessler and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.

In accordance with Dee’s wishes, no viewing will be held and interment will be private.

A memorial gathering will be held at the funeral home on January 18, 2025 from 12:30pm until the hour of the memorial service at 1:30pm.
