Floyd Huggins Obituary

Floyd Cleveland Huggins, 86, of Leisenring (Dunbar Twp.), went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 23,2023 while at Penn Highlands Hospital. 
He was born March 26,1936 in Garards Fort, PA, the youngest child of the late Glad and Emma (Beall) Huggins.
Floyd was a proud US Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War.
After his honorable discharge, he then pursued his love for the Lord and attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, CA. 
He graduated and became an ordained minister following in the footsteps of his father in law, the Rev. AA Anderson.
Floyd also earned a degree in Accounting and went into banking in California.
After many years, he and his family moved back to PA to care for his mother and sister after the death of his father. He also continued his banking career in Connellsville for a multitude of years. 
During that time, he was active in several organizations. 
He was a former member of the Connellsville Elks and former exalted ruler, the Connellsville Rotary, and the Pennsylvania Trapping Assoc.
Floyd was active at Highlands Hospital and served on the Board of Directors for 40 years.
He and his good friend Alan Morris started the Fayette Fur Post in 1984. Floyd spent much of his time looking for Ginseng, Golden Seal and other roots. Fayette Fur Post was also well known for dog supplies and food.
Floyd attended Calvary Assembly of God and especially enjoyed Wednesday night Bible study.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Anderson Huggins and his 4 sisters and 3 brothers. (His brother Conrad Wayne received the Purple Heart after being killed during WWII.)
Floyd was also preceded in death by an infant great grandson, Deklan Alexander Murphy.
Floyd is survived by his children, Patti Pilato and husband Robert and Greg Huggins; his grandchildren, Jessilynn Brinkley and husband Kyle, Adrienne Murphy and partner Derek, Jordyn Pilato and fiancé Brad, and Christina Huggins; his only great grandson, Luka Murphy and his numerous nieces and nephews, especially Sherry and Russ Gonda.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.
In honoring Floyds wishes, there will be no public visitation.
Interment will be held at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies - 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017 with a private military ceremony.
There will be a Celebration of Floyds life at a later date.
