Elmer Roger Anderson, 83, of Springfield Twp., passed away on Sunday November 16, 2025, at Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
He was born June 4, 1942, in Dunbar, the son and only child of the late Earl Wilson and Dorothy Ruth (Whetsel) Anderson.
Roger was employed at different times by Anchor Hocking, Smith Glass, and Seven Springs. He also was a laborer on his own farm, where he gardened, took care of the animals he had, and bailed hay every year.
He attended Mt. Zion Community Church, Acme.
Roger loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed watching the local wildlife, and camping before his health declined.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Nancy (Watson) Anderson; his children, Gina S. Anderson, Gary R. Anderson, Sarah J. ‘Janie’ Sherbondy, and Corey B. Anderson; his 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Steven, Jordyn, Hailey, Beau, Rob and Jake and his 7 great-grandchildren, Eli, Griffen, Payslie, Emmy, Colt, Ava, and Nic.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his son, Greg E. Anderson (2020).
Professional funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.
In accordance with Roger’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. Private viewing and services will be held with the family and private interment will be held at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
