Elizabeth Ann (Tomaro) Egnot, also known as “Liz” and “Babe”, 81, of Connellsville, passed away July 28, 2024 surrounded by her family at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.
Born October 6, 1942 in Dunbar, PA , the youngest child of Columbus and Veronica (Wolfe) Tomaro.
She was a graduate of the former Dunbar High School in the Class of 1961. Liz was a member St. John the Evangelist RC Church, where she was a member of the Fund Raising Committee in which she was known as the “Pierogie Order Taking Lady”. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan, along with doing Seek N Find Puzzle Books and she was an avid shopper on QVC. Liz loved to buy or sell tickets for various organizations.
She had a heart of gold, and willing to help anyone.
Elizabeth was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. “Eggie”, whom she married on September 15, 1962 and her siblings, Marcella Rigger, Dorothy Kapella, and Ralph Tomaro.
She is survived by children, Lisa (Gregory Skowronek), Denise M. (Christopher Iaquinta) with whom she resided, both of Connellsville, and Raymond J. (Brenda Hollop) of Johnstown; granddaughter, her “pride and joy”, Sarah Elizabeth Iaquinta; her canine companion, “Sophie”; sisters- in law, Katherine Tomaro and Valerie Egnot and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home, Inc. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville. , PA 15425 on Wednesday from 2pm – 8pm and on Thursday from 8am until 9:30am when Prayers of Transfer will be held at the funeral home.
Funeral mass will immediately follow at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville with Fr. Peter Guardiano as Celebrant.
Interment and Committal services will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Connellsville.
The family extends a heart-felt thank you to the staff at WVU – Uniontown Hospital especially the nurses on the Second Floor and Intensive Care Unit for the care given to Liz.
