Doris Mae (Bates) Clark

Doris Mae (Bates) Clark, 93, of Connellsville, PA, died on Monday January 12, 2026, at Peroni’s Personal Care Home, Uniontown.

She was born June 25, 1932, in South Connellsville, PA, a daughter of the late Albert William (Bill) Bates and Lora Maud (Peterson) Bates.

She lived in Connellsville for most of her life but for a short time as a young girl, lived near Lincoln Park, New Jersey.  She married Ralph G. Clark and had three daughters.

Doris was employed by Anchor Glass Container Corp. until her retirement. She was a member of the Connellsville Alliance Church. Doris enjoyed reading, camping, vacationing at Ocean City with her church friends, and spending time talking with her daughters.

She is survived by her three daughters, Linda (Tom) Watson of Belington, WV, Cynthia (Sam) Vetos of Kemmerer, WY, and Rebecca (James) Riley of Uniontown, PA; seven grandchildren, Laura Hanifan, Thomas J. Watson, Jr., Mary Beth Cox, Andrew J. Vetos, Jason M. Riley, Alex D. Vetos, and Jonathan P. Riley; seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, and her dear friend and sister-in-law, Eleanor Homer.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris is predeceased by a sister, Betty Jean Ritenour and two brothers, David Charles Bates, and infant Kenneth Albert Bates.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Connellsville Missionary Alliance Church - 598 Vanderbilt Road Connellsville, PA 15425. 

Family and friends will be received at the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425, on Tuesday January 20th from 10am until the hour of the funeral service at 1:30pm with Pastor James Turnbull officiating.

Committal Services and Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Bullskin Twp.
