Dolores Jean ‘Dodie’ Brady, 79, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 15, 1945 in Owensdale, PA, a daughter of the late Elmer and Ida (Lint) Hall.
Dodie graduated from Connellsville High School in the Class of 1963 and she was a longtime member of the Faith Bible Church, Connellsville.
For 10 years, she was employed through Anchor Hocking Glass Cap. where she worked on the assembly line. When she wanted to start a family with her husband, Thomas, she decided to stay home and care for her family.
Dodie enjoyed gardening and loved all different types of flowers, not having one particular favorite. She enjoyed drawing and sketching landscapes, and loved decorating for every holiday.
Her greatest accomplishment in her life was her family and she adored spending time with them whenever she was able to. She especially loved spending time with her grandson and going to his baseball and football games.
Dodie is survived by her loving daughters, Carolyn Dillon of Connellsville, Diana Butts (Sam) of Smock, and Danielle Brady (Vince) of Chico, CA; grandson, Samuel Butts, Jr. of Smock; sisters, Catherine Cavanaugh of Mt. Pleasant, June Bradley of S. Connellsville, Stella Stewart of Connellsville and Margaret Monosky of S. Connellsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dodie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thomas James Brady; grandson, Joel Daniel Helms; sister, Shirley Schomer and brothers, Wendall Hall and Charles Hall.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Tuesday from 5pm – 8pm and on Wednesday from 8am until the hour of the funeral service at 9am with Pastor Barry Witt officiating.
