Diana Lea Donato, 75, of Connellsville (Dunbar Twp.), passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, with her family at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on December 27, 1950, in Bitner, a daughter of the late Anthony Thompson, Jr. and Betty L. (Williams) Thompson.
Diana was a graduate of Connellsville High School and continued her education at California University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Master's Degree.
Throughout her life, Diana held a variety of positions. She was employed at Anchor Hocking Glass Cap, taught at the Connellsville Area School District, worked on the Alaskan Pipeline, and, prior to her retirement, served as a Clinical Coordinator at Adelphoi Village.
A devoted woman of faith, Diana attended services at numerous churches throughout the area, embracing fellowship regardless of denomination.
She enjoyed visiting casinos and adored her cats. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
Diana is survived by her son, John Soika and his wife, Lynn; her daughter, Danielle Nalepka and her husband, Shane; her grandchildren, Ryan Nalepka and his wife, Morgan, Morgan Soika-Welden and her husband, Tyler, Seana Soika, Gage Nalepka, and Jaden Soika and fiancé, Deuce Lyons; her great-granddaughter, Persephone Nalepka; her brother, Anthony Thompson III and his wife, Cammy; and her beloved cats, Beauty, Mr. Mystic, and Precious.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425, on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m., with Rev. Barry Witt officiating.
Inurnment will be held privately at a later date in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
Diana's family would like to extend a special thank you to her friends, Chris and Jane, and her nurses, Cyndi and Bill, for their care and compassion towards Diana.
