David Edward Helms

David Edward Helms, 72, of Connellsville Twp., passed away on Friday May 22, 2026 at Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. 

He was born August 26, 1953 in Connellsville, a son of the late Herbert E. and Mary C. (Evans) Helms.

Dave was a graduate of Connellsville High School in the Class of 1971.

He proudly served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1975.

Dave went on to be employed at Lenox Glass Co., Jeanette Glass Co., both of which he was a pipefitter, and most recently, he was employed at the Connellsville Community Ministries.

In addition, he was a member of the Polish Club, VFW Post 21, Knights of Columbus, and the South Connellsville Fireman's Club.

Dave is survived by his sister, Maryann Rizer and husband James; brothers, Herbert Helms and wife Jaydene and Michael Helms and wife Debbie and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Dill and brother, Joe Helms.
