Daniel E. ('Woody') Leighty

Daniel E. ‘Woody’ Leighty, 92, of Leisenring, passed away peacefully on Friday October 13, 2023 with his family at his side.

He was born June 7, 1931 in Juniata, a son of the late John Dudley and Ida Belle (Kern) Leighty.

Woody was employed as a Forklift Driver for Anchor Hocking until its’ closure.

He was a member of the Juniata Sportsmen’s Club and played on a slow pitch softball league for many years.

Woody enjoyed going hunting every year and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved being in his garage doing woodwork and fixing many different things.

Woody is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marjorie L. (Russman) Leighty; his daughter, Susan Klink (Jeff); daughters-in-law, Cindy Hudack Leighty and Robin Campbell Leighty; grandchildren, Seanna Kessler (Colin), Samantha Leighty (Brad), Amy Leighty, Garrett Leighty and Alex Leighty; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Jadyn; brother, Tom Leighty (Libby); sister-in-law, Barbara Russman Gettemy and her son, Kevin Hann(Joni) and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his sons, Brian Leighty and Daniel Leighty; his siblings and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville,  PA 15425 Tuesday from Noon until the hour of the funeral service at 6pm with Pastor Brian Swan officiating.

Interment will be privately held.
