Christopher Scott Nicholson

Christopher Scott Nicholson, 41, of Connellsville, died suddenly after losing his battle with addiction on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

He was born on August 4, 1983, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Steven W. Bender & Denise Ritenour Castrodad.

Christopher was a graduate of Connellsville High School Class of 2001. After, he served with the U.S. Army from 2001-2005. After discharge, he was employed for many years as an Iron Worker with Local 3 Union. He was recently employed by Rural Roots Construction. In his spare time, Christopher enjoyed working out at Lobo’s Gym, snowboarding, and playing chess. 

In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by his step father, Randy Castrodad; maternal grandparents, Mary (Judith) Ritenour of Connellsville & Harry (Bob) Ritenour & wife Lynne of Dunbar; son, Jaden Nicholson; x-wife, Melissa Guth Nicholson; special granddaughter, Aubrey Guth; sister, Ashley Nicholson of Connellsville; half-sister, Allison Bender; half-brother, Shane Bender; stepsisters, Samantha Osler of Connellsville & Mackenzie Castrodad of OH; step brothers, Jeremy Castrodad of Connellsville and Seth Castrodad of OH; special uncle, Scott Ritenour & wife Helen of Connellsville; special niece, Makayla Burkholder of Connellsville; and also many other aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Tiler Guth and paternal grandparents, Donald E. Saunders and Mary Rhoades.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Tuesday from 2pm until 7 p.m. the hour of the funeral service with Pastor James Turnbull officiating. Military Honors will also be accorded by the Amvets General George C. Marshall Post #103.

Interment will be private.
