Charles LeRoy "Hougie" Papke, 89, of Uniontown, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
He was born October 28, 1931, in Connellsville, Pa, the son of Henry and Loretta (Harshman) Papke.
Hougie was a Clerk for the United States Army.
He was employed by the B&O Railroad and the Penn Central Railroad where he worked for many years.
He was a member of the Flying Club at the Mount Pleasant Airport as a Private Pilot. With this, he was able to enjoy being in the air like he always did.
He proudly served as an Usher for many years at Christ United Methodist Church, Uniontown. He loved his church family.
Hougie was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Hougie is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Henry, Joseph, Ralph, and Raymond Papke; sisters, Henrietta Jean Glover, Loretta "Toots" Debelius, and infant sisters and brother.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Friday from 10am until the hour of the funeral service at 12pm with Pastor Beverly Roscoe officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
