Bruce Edwin Norris, 65, of South Connellsville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at his home.
He was born August 8, 1955, in Connellsville, a son of the late Carl Cecil and Ethel Marie (Shupe) Norris.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville for many years.
Once he graduated high school, Bruce was employed by Anchor Glass for over 30 years, where he worked as a Tow Motor operator and a Supervisor. He met his wife, Anita, during his employment there.
Bruce attended Penn State Mont Alto University where he received an Associate’s degree in Forestry and attended Triangle Tech where he received his Associate’s degree in CAD. He used his CAD degree for several years at Bechtel Power Corporation, then was later employed through Duraloy Technology as a Lab Technician. He was the past President of Glass Cap Federal Credit Union.
Bruce was a member of the Friday Night Yough Bowling League. He enjoyed gardening and had a green-thumb, unlike his wife and daughters. He loved fishing, where he just received his lifetime license, John Wayne Westerns, Star Trek, movies, and crossword puzzles. Bruce was a hard worker and handyman. He crafted and did beautiful wood-working, stained glass, paper quilling, and so much more.
To Bruce, his family was the most important thing to him. Most recently he enjoyed spending time with his sons-in-law that were the sons he never had. He looked forward to the Summer family reunion, holiday gatherings, and any celebration with family.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Anita (Hustek) Norris of Connellsville, married for thirty years; beloved daughters, Katlyn Cramer and husband Jerry of Pittsburgh and Christine Gida and husband Justin of South Connellsville; one beautiful grandbaby on the way; beloved adopted granddaughter, Katie Lynn Keefer, who adored her Pap-Pap since he began babysitting her at six and one half months old; siblings, Jackie Zinn of West Virginia, Nancy Oja and husband Peter of Arizona, and Barb Norris and husband Jeff Dorcik of Arizona; sisters-in-law Marie Hustek and Mary Alice Brightwell of Belle Vernon, Sis Dietrich of Tionesta, Donna Hustek of Scottdale, brother-in-law Mike Yatsko of Connellsville, many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and his cats, Tess and Mariah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, George Zinn, Thomas Hustek, Joseph Hustek, and Timothy Hustek; sisters-in-law, Julie Hustek and Monica Yatsko; and aunt, Libby Enos and husband Joseph and uncle, Don Shupe.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Thursday from 2pm – 8pm. Additional visitation will be held on Friday from 11am until 12:30pm when Prayers of Transfer will be held.
