Arlene A. “Pudge” Leonard, 82, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday December 7, 2023 at home.

She was born February 10, 1941 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Edward and Kathyrn (Zavislan) Kostelnik.

She formerly was employed Carol Lee’s Sportswear and mostly recently was a secretary for the Connellsville Senior Center.

Arlene was affectionately known as ‘Aunt Pudge’ to her family. She enjoyed listing to old country music and bluegrass. In her younger days, she went to many country music festivals and jamborees where she even met Ricky Sraggs and many other music stars before they became famous. She loved to travel with her friends to Las Vegas and Atlantic City to gamble at the numerous casinos. In addition to going to casinos, she loved her scratch-off tickets. She was a past member of the Yough Lanes Bowling League and Ladies Group.

She was a member of the former St. Vincent DePaul R.C. Church and she currently attended St. Aloysius R.C. Church.

Arlene is survived by her 3 nieces who looked at her as a second mother, Kathy (Joe) Andolino, Adrea (Joe) Eutsey and Deserae (Chris) Georgiana; special great-nieces and great-nephews; Jarod (Shelby) Andolino, Zachary (Malarie) Andolino, and Keirsten (Mike) Pikula; numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored; great-nieces and great-nephews,Ryan, Zoe, Cali, Mia and Sadie Goergiana and Jolyn Eutsey and James Russell Eutsey; siblings, Diane (Kerry) Leonard; Anthony Kostelnik; John (Vicki) Kostelnik Sr. and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Kostelnik and Martha Kostelnik of FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Kostelnik and Eugene Kostelnik; sister, Kathleen (Katie) Hair; nephew, Joseph Kostelnik; great-nephew, Roger (T.T.) Young and sister-in-law, Sheila Kostelnik.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Monday from 2pm – 8pm and on Tuesday from 8:30am until 9:30am when Prayers of Transfer will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville at 10am with Fr. Peter Guardiano as Celebrant.

Committal will follow in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville.

The family would like to thank friends at the Senior Center, especially her former boss, Patty Pritts; her neighbors, especially Paul Butch; Dr. Peracha and his staff at Shadyside and the UPMC Uniontown offices and to Amedisys and their staff for the care and compassion.
