Obituary

Anthony Pittsment, 91, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 23, 2022 at Hillside Estates, surrounded by his family and two special friends.

He was born September 15, 1930 in Connellsville, a son of the late Anthony and Imogene (Flannery) Pittsment.

Anthony was a member of St. Rita’s Parish, Connellsville. He was a graduate of Connellsville High School and he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Waynesburg University.

He was a proud veteran of U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Waldron during the Korean War.

For many years until his retirement, he was employed through Fruehauf Manufacturing as an accountant.

He was known as someone who always made sure to take care of others. When people would think of Anthony, they immediately thought of him as a good person. With his background in accounting, Anthony always made sure to help everyone with their taxes during tax season.

Anthony was previously a member of the KC, VFW and American Legion and he also enjoying going out to eat with his family in his spare time.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Anthony is survived by his nieces and nephews, Brenda Kooser and family, Mary (Jay) Fox and Family, John (Lana) Pittsment and Family, Charles (Christina) Verbosky and family, and John Verbosky and family; special cousin, Bernie Hartz and family; step-children, Kathy (Renny) Zajac and family, John (Amy) O’Connor and family, and Judy Martucci and family; special friends, Dee, Jan and his dog, Snoopy.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Carmella (O’Connor) Pittsment; brother, John Pittsment and his wife Agnes; sister, Rosemarie Verbosky and her husband Art; nephew, Butch Kooser; step-son, Billy O’Connor and great-niece, Maria Pittsment.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425.

In following with Anthony’s wishes, no visitation will be held and services and interment at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery will be held privately with his family.

Anthony’s family would like to personally thank the staff at Hillside Estates and Suncrest Hospice – Tony, Kathy, Father Phil, and Angel for their compassion and care during his time there.
