Anna C. Maiese-Newton, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Friday February 5, 2021 at Harmon House.
She was born February 10, 1938 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Dominic and Frances “Fannie” (Constantino) Maiese.
For many years, Anna was a loving homemaker.
She was a longtime member of St. Rita R.C. Church, Connellsville.
During her time in Harmon House, Anna picked up the hobby of crafting. Throughout the years, she created many beautiful crafts, including crosses and other intricate designs.
She sold Avon and enjoyed holding numerous parties, including those for Christmas Around the World.
Anna is survived by her brother, Louis “Coochie” Maiese; sister, Pauline Dziuryznski; nephew and caregiver, Joseph Maiese and wife Delicia; nieces, Pam Kenney and husband Paul and Barbara Striker; nephews, David Dziurynzski and girlfriend Amy, Eugene Dziurzynski Jr. and wife Michelle and John Dziurzynski and girlfriend Katie and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her companion of 35 years, Jack Begonia.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Tuesday from 10am until 12pm, when Prayers of Transfer will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Rita R.C. Church, Connellsville at 12:30pm with Fr. Daniel Carr officiating.
Committal will follow at St. Rita R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville.
Anna’s family would like to thank Harmon House for their special and excellent care of Anna since she became a resident there 6 years ago.
A sincere, special thank you to Marcy, who was Anna’s “Angel from God”, who went above and beyond to care for Anna during the years and a special thank you to Trish, Cindy, Lori, the rest of the staff of Harmon House and Grane Hospice who took care of Anna during her final days and made sure she had always received the best, comforting care possible.
