Anna Jean ‘Annie’ Culina, 81, of Connellsville, PA, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 19, 1944, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Holt) McFern.
Annie was a 1962 graduate of Connellsville High School. She worked for many years as a seamstress at Connellsville Sportswear and later was employed at KFC in Connellsville until her retirement. She was a former member of Pennsville Baptist Church.
Annie was an avid bowler for many years with the Connellsville Bowling League, where she was a member of the Rockettes. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the yearly gatherings when her sisters and extended family visited from out of state. She was also a devoted sports fan, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Pittsburgh Penguins. She especially enjoyed visiting the casino whenever she had the chance.
She is survived by her sisters, Lois Mehilo and her husband, George, of Searcy, AR, and Linda Kelly of Pensacola, FL; her sister-in-law, Rosemary McFern; her niece and nephew, who were like her own children, Christine Addis and her husband, Jim, along with their daughter, Alaina and her fiance, Davey Wingrove; and John Freed and his girlfriend, Jade Bihun, along with Javen and Jasper. She is also survived by her nephews, Harry McFern, Jr., Billy, Chuck, James, and David Kelly, and George “GT” Mehilo; and her niece, Carrie Unger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Donavich; her second husband, William Culina; her brothers, Charles and Harry McFern; her sister, Shirley Freed and brother-in-law, Paul Freed.
Family and friends will be received at the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425, on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
Committal services and interment will follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
