Betty Jean (Zylka) Hatter, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday September 16, 2018 at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.
She was born April 12, 1948 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late John Stanley Sr. and Elsie Mae (McConnell) Zylka.
Betty was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville and the Christian Mothers.
She was a registered nurse up until her retirement after 30 years of employment at both Frick Hospital (12 years) and West Penn Hospital (18 years).
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, David A. Hatter; children, Laura Livengood and companion Mark of Scottdale and Renee Hatter of Royersford, PA; grandchildren, Troy Klepsky and wife Melanie of Scottdale, Justin Klepsky and wife Paula of Scottdale, Ktlyn Beard and husband Landon of Salisbury, NC, and Derek Miller of Scottdale; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Addalie Beard, Geno Klepsky, Anthony, Chris, Emily Stewart; 2 sisters, Connie Steiner and husband Bill of Mt. Pleasant and Elsie Bugosh and husband Ed of Scottdale; brother, John Zylka, Jr. and wife Penny of Mt. Pleasant and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Madisyn Klepsky
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville on Tuesday from 2 to 8pm. Additional visitation on Wednesday from 8:30am until 9:30am, when Prayers of Transfer will be held.
The Funeral Mass will immediately follow at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville at 10am with Rev. Fr. Daniel Ulishney as Celebrant.
Committal will follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church – 116 South Second Street Connellsville, PA 15425.
