Susanna Katherine (Laughery) Hart

Susanna Katherine (Swaney) Hart passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, at the age of 92, at home with family. She was a lifelong resident of Connellsville, born on April 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Katherine (Laughery) and Edson Swaney

A graduate of Connellsville High School in 1949, Sue was an early phone operator for Bell Telephone and helped her husband with the family business of Abel Dental Laboratory until their retirement in 2007.

Her legacy of love is carried on by her children, Cindy Hart Hutton and husband James (Skip) of Uniontown and Tammy Hart of Connellsville; granddaughters, Sarah (Michael) McGinley and Amy Schwarz of Connellsville, Beth (Jason) Brady-Smith of Vanderbilt, and Katherine Hutton and Fiancé Tom McArdle of Richmond, VA; great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Cameron, and Colleen McGinley, William and Maggie Schwarz, Nathanael Brady, and Calvin Brady-Smith; great-great granddaughter, Lilly Russ; sister, Barbara Bryner of California and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Hart in 2015 and brother, Robert Swaney in 1994.

Family and friends will be received for a Memorial Gathering at the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Saturday from 6pm – 8pm, with the Connellsville Lions Club holding a service at 7PM.

The funeral service for Sue will be held at 1PM on Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Connellsville, with Pastor Janice Altenburger officiating. We ask that everyone please go directly to the church.

Private interment will follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park.
